CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior
George Cooper and sophomore
Jack Rickheim each tallied two hits, but Harvard University baseball fell to Columbia University, 19-1, in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at O'Donnell Field.
Closing out the final full series of the season for both teams, the Crimson (11-26, 8-12 Ivy) dropped the decision to the Lions (24-17, 16-5 Ivy) who clinched at least a share of the Ivy League regular season title with the win.
Rickheim went 2-for-5 with a double, notching his 13
th multi-hit game of the year while Cooper finished 2-for-4, posting his 14
th multi-hit game of the year.

How It Happened
- Columbia opened the game's scoring with six runs in the top of the second.
- The Lions plated two runs in the top of the fourth on a two-run triple to move ahead, 8-0.
- The visitors added another pair of runs in the top of the fifth to make the score 10-0.
- Columbia tacked on three runs in the top of the sixth to bring its lead to 13-0.
- The Lions scored three additional runs in the top of the seventh to take a 16-0 edge.
- In the bottom of the eighth, Giberti sent an RBI single into left field, plating Rickheim – who doubled to left center earlier in the inning – and making the score 16-1.
- The visitors moved ahead 19-1 with a three-run home run in the top of the ninth.
