HOW IT HAPPENED
Once again, a fast start on the offensive end put Harvard (12-1, 5-0 Ivy League) in a great position. It only took one attacking penalty corner for the Crimson to find the first goal, as Piekarski slapped a rebound into the cage for the opening goal three minutes into the afternoon, 1-0. Just two minutes later, on Harvard's second penalty corner of the contest, senior defender
Smilla Klas found Bronckers on the insert, as Bronckers fired a powerful shot into the cage to double the cage, 2-0.
The incredible form on the attacking penalty corner continued with Harvard's third penalty corner, as Piekarski fed van Sante who slotted the chance away to push the Crimson lead to three, 3-0. A native of Amsterdam, Netherlands, this represents van Sante's first career goal.
At the end of the first quarter, Harvard recorded eight shots and five penalty corners, while holding Boston University (6-8, 3-1 Patriot League) yo just one shot and zero penalty corner chances.
Only 42 seconds into the second quarter, Harvard orchestrated the fourth goal, as Butterworth collected the insert and fired a shot that deflected off a stick and over Boston University keeper for her fourth goal of the year, 4-0.
Across the first 30 minutes from Berylson Field, the Crimson recorded 12 shots while holding the visitors to just one.
The Terriers pulled a goal back on a penalty corner chance, 4-1, in the early moments in the third quarter. Harvard's final goal of the contest arrived in the fourth quarter, as le Huray redirected senior midfielder and team captain
