Sailing Wins Victorian Urn Trophy

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing completed its regular-season fall slate by winning the Victorian Urn Trophy, which was hosted by Dartmouth. The Crimson also finished in fifth place at the Schell Trophy (Vermont host), 10th at the Nickerson Trophy (Tufts host) and ninth at the Terrier Invitational (BU host).

Victorian Urn Trophy | Enfield, N.H.

The Crimson won the Victorian Urn Trophy going away, posting a score of 79, which was 50 points better than runner-up Tufts and third-place Roger Williams, which both finished with a 129. The Victorian Urn victory marked the program's second in the last three seasons (2024).

Zoey Ziskind led the way for Harvard in the A-Division and was assisted by Peyton Hadfield (1-10) and Christina Chen (11-14). Kate Danielson, meanwhile, was the team's B-Division skipper, with Chen (1-4) and JJ Drummond (5-14) serving as crew. Skyler Reading was the reserve waiting ashore.

The Crimson A-group registered 11 top-5 finishes, with just one double-figure performance (11th in Race 9) over two days of action. They ended up winning Race 2, 5, 6, 8 and 11, en route to a division-best score of 40.

Harvard's B-sailors, meanwhile, recorded single-digit finishes in all 12 races. Of the 12 outcomes, 11 were of the top-5 variety. The one outlier was an eighth-place performance in Race 1. When racing was complete, the Crimson finished with a B-best 39.

Schell Trophy | Burlington, Vt.

Harvard finished in fifth place with a score of 188, and ended behind Yale (129), Brown (142), Boston College (147) and Roger Williams (167) at a regatta contested on Lake Champlain. Harrison Strom and Zia Zucker competed in the A-Division, with Jacob Posner and Amelie Zucker drawing the B-Division assignment. Xavier Ayala-Vermont and William Bourell served as reserves.

Strom and Zia Zucker won three events at the two-day regatta, finishing ahead of the pack in Race 4, 5, and 12. Across 14 starts, the duo finished among the top-8 nine times and in the top-10 13 times en route to a 104.

Posner and Amelie Zucker, meanwhile, posted 12 single-digit finishes, including seven top-3 performances. The pair's top run at the regatta came in Races 2-5, when they put up a line of 2-3-3-3. Posner and Zucker ultimately ended with an 84.

Nickerson Trophy | Medford, Mass.

The Crimson tied with Rhode Island as both finished with 182 points, but Harvard ended up with the lower placing (10th) due to a head-to-head tiebreaker after racing was complete on Mystic Lake. Harvard was represented by an all-first-year quartet in Max Wolfensberger-Erika Tinmouth and Louise Martin-Elizabeth Jacobsson.

Wolfensberger-Tinmouth opened with an impressive 2-2-5-8 finish line across the first four starts. Then in the final six races, the duo had three single-digit finishes (5th in Race 6, 7th in Race 8, 4th in Race 9) before ending with a 76, which was the seventh-best score in the A-Division. Martin-Jacobsson, meanwhile, had six top-10 finishes, including four within the top-9, and completed the regatta with a 106.

Terrier Invitational | Cambridge, Mass.

Harvard finished the one-day BU-hosted regatta with a score of 233. Roger Williams won the event with a 99.

Pax Huybers and Whitney Pickett sailed in the A-Division and finished with a 105. The duo's best performance came in Race 2, when it they finished in 10th place. Grace Naylor and Noelle Brighton were the Crimson's B-Division competitors and registered a 128 across the regatta's eight starts.
