MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Harvard women's tennis (6-5) recorded its second consecutive sweep to close out its weekend back-to-back, defeating Memphis, 4-0, this afternoon.
Harvard grabbed early momentum in the match by securing the doubles point with wins on court two and three.
Kate Kim and
Claire Shao capitalized first with a convincing 6-3 victory over Natalia Koppova and Rebecca Frant (Memphis).
Natalie Block and
Natasha Rajaram then battled to a 7-5 win at the No. 3 spot to give Harvard a 1-0 lead.
Stephanie Yakoff and
Kavya Karra continued their dominance at the two top singles spots for the Crimson as each quickly added to the lead. Karra struck first, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Alicia Mall (Memphis). Yakoff then followed closely behind with her own straight-set (6-4, 6-1) win at the top spot over Sofiia Mykhailets (Memphis).
Tallying her second win of the day, Kim went on to clinch the match for the Crimson at court five. The junior defeated Emma Dvorackova (Memphis) 6-3, 6-4 to complete Harvard's sweep.
