CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a historic win over No. 1 Syracuse last weekend the Harvard men's lacrosse team has moved into the top 10 in all three major National polls. The Crimson was tabbed the No. 4 team in the nation by the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Rankings. The USILA Coaches voted Harvard into the No. 6 spot on their list, representing the team's highest ranking since the 1990 season.
Harvard jumped 10 spots in the KANE Footwear Inside Lacrosse Media poll, the highest jump of any team this season. The placement at No. 4 is the highest ranking in the media poll in the history of Harvard lacrosse. Despite the No. 6 ranking in the USILA Poll, Harvard received two first place votes this week, which is the first time the program has ever received consideration for the top spot. Harvard has been a frequent name in the poll under Byrne, with this placement being the highest in his tenure.
Harvard took over the top spot in the NEILA Rankings this week after spending the first two weeks of the season at No. 3 and No. 2, respectively. The Crimson went wire-to-wire as the No. 1 team in the NEILA last season, eventually being named the 2025 New England Champions.
The Crimson will now turn the page and shift its focus towards its next challenge. Harvard will be on the road for the first time this season to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles on Long Island at Chaminade High School. Faceoff is set for 12:00 PM in Mineola, N.Y. with all the action set to air live on YouTube via Varsity Network.
