CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 8 women's water polo heads to Villanova this weekend for a trio of games, including two against ranked opponents.
Facing No. 22 Wagner on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., the Crimson has already beaten the Seahawks once this season. Turning to Sunday, the Crimson has another doubleheader, opening against No. 23 California Baptist at 8:00 a.m. before facing host Villanova at noon to close out the day.
The game against Villanova is the only game that will be streamed this weekend—fans can catch the action on ESPN+.
WHAT TO KNOW
- Orli Cooper was named CWPA Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Making 16 saves against Iona, 13 saves against No. 8 Indiana, and another 15 saves against LIU, the sophomore netminder has 67 saves over the last two weekends.
- The Crimson jumped up to No. 8 in the most recent CWPA poll after beating No. 8 Indiana last weekend by a score of 9–8. Harvard lost to the Hoosiers twice last season before bouncing back at the Princeton Invite last week.
- The No. 8 ranking ties a program high that the group was able to reach last season heading into the NCAA tournament.
- Harvard has already beaten Wagner this season by a score of 12–5 after Piovan added a hat trick and Klemm added two goals. Eight different Crimson found the back of the net in the win.
- Harvard beat California Baptist last season at Blodgett by a score of 16–9.
- Harvard plays Villanova for the first time since 2024 and heads to Philadelphia for the first time since 2022.
