CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's tennis (5-3) won its fourth straight victory this evening, defeating Buffalo (2-3), 6-1.
The Crimson opened the day by tallying its third consecutive doubles point with wins on court one and three.
James MacDonald and
Masato Perera struck first to remain undefeated on the year, with a 6-2 victory at the No. 3 spot.
Nathan Blokhin and
Benjamin Privara then secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win on the top court.
Mitchell Lee quickly put the Crimson further ahead, beating Michael Malkin with identical 6-1 sets. Privara then followed for his second win of the day with a 6-4, 6-1 straight-set win over Clement Mainguy (Buffalo).
Rohan Murali, the No. 34 nationally ranked singles player, ultimately clinched the victory for the Crimson by defeating Theodoros Mitsakos (Buffalo), 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.
With the win already secured, Harvard continued to grab points. First,
Nathan Blokhin recorded his sixth win of the year and remained unbeaten by dropping Onder Balci (Buffalo), 6-3, 6-7 (4).
Marc Ktiri registered the final Harvard point of the day, besting Emiliano Jorquera (Buffalo) at the No. 6 position. Either player recorded a set win, and then Ktiri stole the victory with 10-4 result in the third-set tiebreaker.
