Women’s Basketball Dominates Dartmouth, 75-35

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball (13-8, 6-2 Ivy) cruised past Dartmouth (10-11, 1-7 Ivy), 75-35, this afternoon to record its fourth straight win and complete a 3-0 homestand.

The Crimson gave up a season-low 10 field goals as it held the Big Green to its second-lowest scoring output of the season.  On the offensive end, Aubrey Shaw led all scorers in the contest with a career-high 15 points.  Karlee White also added 12 points for her seventh-consecutive double-figure outing.

How it Happened

Despite early offensive struggles, the Crimson's intense defensive pressure allowed the Crimson to take the lead and never lose it.  After four points in the first five minutes, Harvard began to find its stride and led 14-3 after one quarter.  In the first, the Crimson held the Big Green to 0% shooting as Dartmouth got its three points all from free throws.

The second quarter was more of the same as Harvard's offense erupted for 20 points on 50% shooting and the defense continued to be a bother to Dartmouth's attack.  In total, the Crimson gave up just one field goal in the entire second half as the Big Green didn't hit its first basket until under a minute remained.  In the first half alone, Harvard received scoring contributions from eight different players and forced 16 turnovers with nine steals to lead by 22.

The Big Green had its most productive quarter coming out of the locker room, tallying 14 points on over 50% shooting.  Harvard's offense, however, continued to click as Aubrey Shaw started to get hot with seven points in the frame.  With 10 minutes remaining, the Crimson sat firmly in front, 52-26.

Harvard tallied its highest point total of the night with 23 in the final quarter.  Six different Crimson players scored in the frame including eight more points from Shaw and Maya Nahar's first two career buckets.  Ultimately, Harvard solidified its fourth-consecutive win with a 75-35 final score.
