SAN DIEGO, Calif. - No. 12 women's water polo doubled up No. 16 UC San Diego, 12-6, in its first game of the West Coast road trip on Saturday afternoon.
In a tight first quarter, Harvard led just 1-0 after the opening frame. Lily Britt got on the board after being left open in front of the cage before Harvard added four more goals in the second quarter to take a 5-2 lead at halftime. Niki Piovan and Beatrice Hearey each recorded hat tricks as Harvard improved to the best start in program history.
Sitting at 19-1, Harvard now has its best record through 20 games in program history and has defeated five ranked teams to date.
