Wrestling Set to Compete at Ivy League Championships on Sunday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University wrestling is set to compete at the Ivy League Championships on Sunday, Mar. 8 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the early rounds of the tournament set for ESPN+ and the finals, starting at 4:00 p.m., set to air live on ESPNews.

  • The tournament's schedule includes the first-round matches at 10:00 a.m. (ESPN+), the semifinals at 10:45 a.m. (ESPN+), the consolation semifinals at 12:30 p.m. (ESPN+), the consolation finals at 1:15 p.m. (ESPN+), and the finals at 4:00 p.m. (ESPNews).
  • Harvard's pre-seeds for the event include No. 4 Logan Brzozowski (125 pounds), No. 4 Coleman Nogle (133), No. 6 Dante Frinzi (141), No. 4 Jack Crook (149), No. 3 Jimmy Harrington (157). No. 5 Joseph Cangro (165), No. 5 Haden Bottiglieri (174), No. 4 Matthew Walsh (184), No. 4 Hudson Skove (197), and No. 6 Daniel Bittner (285).
  • Senior Jimmy Harrington earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors at 157 pounds alongside Academic All-Ivy accolades. Harrington gained All-Ivy laurels for the first time and Academic All-Ivy plaudits for the second time. Harrington has posted a 19-5 record on the year, leading the team in wins (19), dual wins (nine), Ivy dual wins (four), and major decisions (six).
  • The Ivy League's NCAA allocations for automatic qualifiers from the Ivy Championships include two spots at 125 pounds, two at 133, three at 141, three at 149, four at 157, three at 165, two at 174, one at 184, one at 197, and two at 285 for a total of 23 spots.
  • In the RPI and Coaches Rankings from Feb. 26, senior Jimmy Harrington led the Crimson with a No. 9 ranking in the RPI and a No. 20 ranking in the Coaches Ranking at 157 pounds. Several other Crimson featured in the RPI including Logan Brzozowski (No. 33 at 125), Jack Crook (No. 34 at 149), and Joseph Cangro (No. 36 at 165).
  • In the college rankings, senior 157-pounder Jimmy Harrington ranks at No. 14 in WrestleStat, No. 20 in Wrestling Report, No. 19 in FloWrestling, and No. 21 in Intermat.
  • In the regular season finale, Logan Brzozowski and Coleman Nogle each posted pins at 125 and 133 pounds to start the match and catalyze a 26-16 win for Harvard over Brown on Feb. 22 in Providence, Rhode Island. The Crimson captured six of the dual's first eight bouts on its way to the victory over the Bears.
  • In its final non-league dual of the year, the Crimson won seven of 10 bouts on its way to a 25-9 victory over Hofstra (Feb. 15). Jimmy Harrington, Jack Crook, and Joseph Cangro all picked up bonus-point wins for Harvard.
  • In its first home victory over the Tigers since 2008, Harvard topped Princeton (Jan. 31), 19-17. The Crimson won six of the dual's 10 bouts including the last three bouts of the match to take the victory. Trailing 17-10, Matthew Walsh (184), Dylan Greenstein (197), and Hudson Skove (285) rattled off three straight wins to secure the team victory.
  • In its dual at Binghamton, Harvard won the first six bouts of the match to top the Bearcats, 30-13. Dante Frinzi and Joseph Cangro each tallied falls to help lead the Crimson to the victory.
  • Competing at the NWCA Multi-Division Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the Crimson picked up a pair of wins to finish in seventh place at the event. Harvard topped Campbell, 28-17, during pool competition before beating CSU Bakersfield, 35-7, in the seventh-place match.
  • At the Midlands Championships to close out the 2025 calendar year, sophomore Logan Brzozowski finished in sixth place at 125 pounds, and first-year Robert Kucharczk came in eighth place at 184 pounds to lead the Crimson at Ryan Fieldhouse in Evanston, Illinois.
  • Senior Jimmy Harrington paced Harvard at the 2025 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, finishing in eighth place in 157-pound weight class. Harrington won each of his first two matches on day one on Friday and added a win in the blood round in his final bout of the opening day to capture a spot on the podium.
  • At the 2025 Keystone Classic, the Crimson tallied four placers, including Jimmy Harrington (second at 157 pounds), Joseph Cangro (fourth at 165 pounds), Matthew Walsh (sixth at 184 pounds), and Dante Frinzi (seventh at 141 pounds) at The Palestra in Philadelphia on Nov. 23.
  • Senior Jimmy Harrington earned Ivy League Wrestler of the Week honors on Nov. 11 after winning the 157-pound title at the Journeymen Classic behind a 3-0 record. He opened competition with a 13-1 major decision over Owen O'Connor of Army before topping Binghamton's Fin Nadeau, 12-7. In the finals, Harrington beat Penn State's Joe Sealey with a 10-9 decision.
  • At the Crimson's season-opening event senior Jimmy Harrington won the 157-pound weight class, first-year Sidney Tildsley took the blue pool at 141 pounds, and sophomore Logan Brzozowski finished as the runner-up at 125 pounds as Harvard opened its 2025-26 season at the 2025 Journeymen Collegiate Classic on Nov. 9 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
  • The Crimson's captains for the 2025-26 season will include senior 157-pounder Jimmy Harrington, junior 149-pounder Jack Crook, and junior 133-pounder Coleman Nogle.
  • Harvard welcomes six first-years to the program in the Class of 2029. The group includes 165-pounder Robby De Haven, heavyweight Dylan Greenstein, 157-pounder Wyatt Hepner, 184-pounder Robert Kucharczk, 174-pounder Ben Smith, and 141-pounder Sidney Tildsley.
  • The tournament portion of Harvard's 2025-26 schedule includes the Journeymen Classic (Nov. 9), Keystone Classic (Nov. 23), Cliff Keen Invitational (Dec. 5-6), and the Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30).
  • The Crimson will open its dual season with the NWCA Multi-Division National Duals (Jan. 9-10) in Cedar Falls, Iowa before facing off in seven duals against Northeast opponents from Jan. 25 to Feb. 22, including five Ivy League opponents.
  • The 2026 Ivy League Championship will take place in New York, New York on Mar. 8 ahead of the 2026 NCAA Championships from Mar. 19-21 in Cleveland, Ohio.
  • Closing out the 2024-25 season, Jimmy Harrington represented the Crimson at the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia, competing in the 157-pound weight class and earning a victory to advance to day two of the championships.
  • In 2024-25, Harvard finished in fourth place in Division I for the NWCA Team GPA Award as part of the organization's annual recognition of scholastic achievement across the sport.
  • Jay Weiss, The David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling, enters his 32nd season as the leader of the Crimson after beginning his tenure at Harvard in 1994-95.
