Women’s Swimming and Diving Heads to NCAA Zone A Diving Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving will send six athletes to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships to compete March 9-11 at Lejeune Hall at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

What to Know

The Crimson returns to action for the first time since Carolina Daher won the 1650 free at the ECAC Championships on March 1. Prior to that meet, Harvard finished in third place at the Ivy League Championships, Feb. 19-22, in Providence, Rhode Island.
The NCAA Zone A Diving Championships will begin on March 9 with the one-meter competition, followed by three-meter diving (March 10) and platform diving (March 11).
Harvard is slated to have seniors Nina Janmyr and Tabitha Chen-Fiske, junior Christina Shi, sophomores Ennika Carlson and Samantha Holtz, and first-year Camille Ching competing at the championships.
Carlson, Holtz, and Janmyr are scheduled to perform on the one-meter board.
Janmyr is coming off runner-up performances (1m, 3m) at the Ivy League Championships and was also named the Ivy League's Career High Point Diver at the conclusion of the conference meet.
Last season at the zone meet, Janmyr qualified for the NCAA Championships on the one-meter board after finishing in sixth place.
Carlson, Chen-Fiske, and Holtz all appeared at last season's zone meet at the Rutgers Aquatic Center in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Ching and Shi will be making their first NCAA Zone A appearances of their careers.

Up Next

Alexandra Bastone, Anya Mostek, and Sydney Lu will compete at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, after earning bids in their respective events. Bastone will compete in the 500 free, Mostek in the 100 and 200 back, and Lu in the 100 fly.The trio all qualified for the national championships after winning their respective races at the Ivy League Championships.
