No. 17 Harvard-Radcliffe Heavyweights Compete at Ivy Invitational Against Top-Ranked Field

PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 17 Harvard-Radcliffe Heavyweight Rowing competed at the Ivy Invitational hosted by Princeton on Saturday morning and afternoon. On a sunny yet windy day in New Jersey, the Black and White raced against some of the nation's top-ranked programs, including Cornell, No. 6 Princeton, No. 8 Syracuse, and No. 7 University of Virginia. The team delivered several runner-up finishes in tightly contested races across the regatta.

The Second Varsity Eight opened racing in a tough competitive field, finishing third in 7:33.985 after a tight battle for second behind Princeton and just ahead of Cornell. The Varsity Eight followed with a similar script, placing third in 7:31.420 as Princeton and Syracuse led the way at the front.

In the First Varsity Four, Harvard-Radcliffe stayed within striking distance of Princeton, taking second in 8:18.092, while Syracuse followed closely behind in third. The Third Varsity Eight saw Syracuse take control up front, with Harvard-Radcliffe finishing fourth in 8:36.342.

The Second Varsity Four finished third in 8:45.895 behind Princeton and Syracuse, and the Third Varsity Four followed in the same order, also placing third in a tightly grouped race.

In the afternoon session, all Harvard-Radcliffe boats finished second in head-to-head racing against No. 1 Virginia. The day closed with multi-boat fours racing, where Harvard-Radcliffe took third and fourth in 8:21.890 and 9:10.648 behind UVA's B and C lineups.
