CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's golf is set to compete in the 2026 Ivy League Championship tournament this weekend, where it will battle for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Regional Tournament. The historic Balutsrol Golf Club will be the host for three-day tournament, which will begin on Friday (Apr. 24) and conclude on Sunday (Apr. 26). Sophomore
Vanessa Zhang will defend her title as the medalist at the event after capturing the 2025 Individual Championship.
Harvard is coming into the tournament after posting its best result of the Spring season at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational last weekend. The Crimson will look to build on that momentum as it chases its first Ivy League title since 2019.

Notes and Storylines
- Harvard has won eight Ivy League Championships in program history.
- The Crimson dominated the Ivy League in the mid 2010s, winning six tournament titles in an eight-year stretch.
- Additionally, seven golfers have captured individual titles in program history, the last being Vanessa Zhang in 2025.
- The victory last season sprung a strong series of results for the Canadian. Zhang owns two tournament victories this season at the Quinnipiac Classic (Oct. 13-14) and the Lady Blue Hen Invitational (Oct. 18-19). Overall, she owns four top five finishes and most recently posted a third-place finish at the Buckeye Invitational (Apr. 17-18).
- Zhang leads the team – and is second in the Ivy League – with a 72.1 adjusted scoring average across 20 rounds this season. Her W-T-L mark is also the highest on the Crimson with a 448-92-6 mark this season.
- With a ranking of 157, Zhang is the second highest ranked player in the Ivy League tournament field.
- Lucy Yuan has performed well this season, giving Harvard a formidable 1-2 punch at the top of its lineup. The sophomore owns two top 10 finishes and a 74.6 scoring average in 20 rounds played. Her best results include an eighth-place finish at the Quinnipiac Classic (Oct. 13-14) and a seventh-place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational (Sep. 19-21).
- Senior captain Iris Wang has posted a 76.2 scoring average in 20 rounds played this season. Wang has come on strong of late, posting two rounds of 74 (+2) at the Buckeye Invitational last weekend (Apr. 17-18).
- Last season, Harvard finished second at the Ivy League Championships with a team score of 20-over-par. The Crimson jumped three spots on the final day of competition to finish in second place at the tournament held at Royal Palm GC in Naples, Florida.
- Zhang broke the tournament scoring record, carding rounds of 68 (-4), 67 (-5) and 70 (-2) to win the individual championship.
- Iris Wang finished T9 a year ago – her best result in her three Ivy League Championships – with scores of 74 (+2), 75 (+3) and 73 (+1).
