Baseball's Colasante and Rickheim Earn Unanimous First Team All-Ivy Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard baseball senior Gio Colasante and junior Jack Rickheim both earned unanimous First Team All-Ivy honors, the Ivy League announced today.

Colasante landed on the First Team as a first baseman and the Second Team as a pitcher, while Rickheim joined the senior captain on the First Team as a shortstop. It marks the second year in a row that Colasante has earned unanimous First Team honors and also landed on the Second Team as a pitcher. Rounding out the Crimson selections was senior Max Lane, who earned Academic All-Ivy.

Colasante earned unanimous First Team All-Ivy League honors after putting together one of the Ivy League's top offensive seasons in conference play. He hit .386 with a 1.200 OPS over 21 Ivy starts, totaling 32 hits, 17 runs, 19 RBIs, seven doubles, one triple, and seven home runs. He led the league in home runs, ranked second in slugging percentage (.747), second in OPS (1.200), third in batting average (.386), third in hits (32), fourth in on-base percentage (.453), and sixth in doubles (seven). Colasante also went 6-for-7 on stolen-base attempts.

On the mound, Colasante was once again a leader for the Crimson, posting a 3-1 record with a 3.10 ERA over seven Ivy League starts. He struck out 29 batters across 40.2 innings while holding opponents to a .195 batting average and finishing with a 0.92 WHIP. Among Ivy League leaders, Colasante ranked sixth in opposing batting average (.195), ninth in innings pitched (40.2), ninth in walks allowed (eight), 10th in hits allowed (29), and third in home runs allowed (one).

Rickheim took home the first All-Ivy League selection of his career after a career-best season at the plate. One of the conference's top hitters in Ivy play, the junior hit .348, good for eighth in the league, and finished third in OPS (1.032) over 21 games. He recorded 31 hits, 22 runs, 20 RBIs, six doubles, one triple, and six home runs, with his homer total trailing only Colasante among Ivy League players. While starting every conference game for the Crimson, Rickheim slugged .640, reached base at a .392 clip, and went 3-for-4 on stolen-base attempts.
