CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard men's lightweight rowing team heads to Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. to compete for the IRA National Championship Regatta from May 29-31. The 11-time IRA National Champion Harvard Lights aim to defend their 2024 and 2025 National Championships.
IRA National Championship Regatta
• Harvard has won 11 IRA National Championships all-time with the 2024 title being the Crimson's 10th all-time and first since 2013.
• The Harvard varsity returns six oarsmen, including captain and stroke
Ben Lundie, from last year's national championship winning boat. Harvard had a better than two and a half second win over Dartmouth.
• In last year's second varsity race, the Crimson also claimed a national title with a win over Penn by 1.3 seconds. The varsity four finished fourth.
• The last time out, Harvard's varsity eight won gold at the Eastern Sprints, claimed an Ivy League title and qualified for the Henley Royal Regatta. Harvard's second and third varsity boats each finished third.
