CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Daniel Milavsky '25 will compete for a spot in the US Open Main Draw beginning August 24 after receiving a Qualifying Wild Card this afternoon, USTA announced today.
"The USTA rewarding Danny's incredible summer with a US Open qualifying wild card is a tremendous and well-deserved moment. He's earned four wins over top-200 players since June, and his rise over the past few years has been remarkable," said Andrew Rueb '95, the Scott Mead '77 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Tennis.
Milavsky is currently ranked in his first year on the ATP Tour and has climbed the ranks to No. 310 in the world. Formerly, Milavsky was a standout for the Crimson, compiling 74 singles wins in his tenure. Additionally, the Massachusetts native was named the ITA New England Region Senior Player of the Year and was a unanimous First Team All-Ivy honoree.
"Danny went from being ranked No. 269 in the world as a junior and playing primarily in the middle of our lineup his first years at Harvard to becoming one of the elite players in college tennis," continued Rueb. "During his junior year he made a real commitment to maximizing his potential and seeing just how far he could take his game – and he's been on an incredible trajectory ever since.
As a senior, he put together one of the best seasons in Harvard tennis history, going 18-6 in singles and 18-2 in doubles. Now, in his first year on the ATP Tour, he's already climbed to No. 310 in singles and No. 166 in doubles. To see that journey take him all the way to the US Open is incredibly exciting. Danny has earned this opportunity, and I think the best part is that he's still getting better."
