Women’s Tennis Announces its 2026 Fall Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis will return to the court this fall with a slate of seven individual tournaments on the road to the NCAA Individual Championships in Athens, Ga.

The Crimson's season will open at the IT All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. beginning September 19. The tournament runs through the 27th and will qualify ten singles players and five doubles teams to compete for a national title. Last season, Kavya Karra and Stephanie Yakoff won two matches to advance to the qualifying draw of the tournament and will compete in the main draw this upcoming season. Yakoff will also compete in the singles main draw.

Harvard will then host its first home tournament to kick off the month of October. The Crimson will host Boston College, Boston University, and Stony Brook at the Harvard Fall Classic from October 2nd through the 4th. Harvard will host one other tournament, the Harvard Invitational, on November 7th and 8th.

In between the two home events, the Crimson will send athletes to the ITA New England Regionals in New Haven, Conn. and the Ivy League Qualifier Tournament in New York City. The singles finalists and doubles champion at regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships and the champions at the Ivy tournament advance to the ITA Conference Masters on November 5th in Rome, Ga.

Yakoff staged an impressive run at last year's regionals to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the first time in her individual career. The New Jersey native won six matches in five days, defeating four seeded opponents and not dropping a set to win the title.

All running the weekend of November 5th will be the ITA Sectional Championships. The Sectionals and Conference Masters will be the final opportunity for players to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships in Athens from November 17th through 22nd. This will be the first official year of the National Championship being held in the fall after a successful two-year trial period the previous two seasons.
