CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard men's water polo first-year
Clay Carrington (Menlo Park, Calif.) earned his first career award recognition as the NWPC Rookie of the Week following his collegiate debut over the weekend. The Crimson went 2-2 in the Bruno Classic at Blodgett Pool and Carrington was second on the team in goals scored with 11.
Carrington made a splash in his debut with four goals against No. 13 Cal Baptist to start his 11-goal weekend. He added a goal and two assists in a one-goal win over Air Force on Saturday night. Carrington then picked up two goals and two assists against No. 11 Pacific in Sunday's opener amd dominated Wagner with four goals and three assists to close out the tournament.
A pair of Crimson players also earned a spot on the NWPC weekly honor roll with senior
Jack Burghardt (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and freshman goalie
Jonas Ransford (Newport Beach, Calif.) representing Harvard.
Harvard hits the road this weekend for three games at the Aggie Roundup, hosted by UC Davis.
