DURHAM, N.H. – Harvard men's soccer (1-3-1, 0-0-0 Ivy) remained level with New Hampshire through the opening 52 minutes before falling to the Wildcats (5-1-1, 0-0-0 America East), 2-0, on Tuesday evening at Wildcat Stadium.
The Crimson generated eight shots in the contest, with five coming in the second half, but could not find the back of the net in its first scoreless outing of the 2026 season.
How it Happened
- Harvard generated the first three shots of the match, all in the first 20 minutes of play as possession swung mostly in favor of the Crimson in the early going. Ben Kelly sent an attempt high in the fifth minute before Adam Poliakov forced a save from New Hampshire goalkeeper Aaron Choi in the 13th.
- The Crimson earned the match's first corner kick in the 17th minute, with Gil de Souza adding another shot one minute later to complete the Crimson's offensive chances in the half.
- Harvard's defense limited New Hampshire to two first-half shots and did not allow an attempt on goal during the opening 45 minutes as the teams entered halftime scoreless in a defense heavy first half of action.
- Xavier Tanyi created the first scoring opportunity of the second half, placing a shot on goal in the 49th minute with a strong shot from the right-wing position. Dylan Tellado followed with another attempt just over a minute later as the Crimson looked to strike early in the half.
- Broome stopped Miguel Soto Gonzalez's shot in the 53rd minute, but Soto Gonzalez scored less than a minute later to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
- Harvard responded by earning a corner kick in the 60th minute before de Souza and Kelly registered consecutive shots.
- Tellado added another attempt in the 70th minute as the Crimson continued searching for the equalizer.
- New Hampshire's Xahvi DeRoza struck the post in the 77th minute before scoring in the 87th to produce the 2-0 final.
