CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard cross country returned to action with strong performances at both the Indiana State Invite and the Dartmouth Invite.

At the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana, the site of the 2026 NCAA Cross Country Championships, both Crimson squads finished in the top 15 of the championship races. The women's team took 15^th with 406 points in the women's 6k championship race, as first-year Aelo Curtis led the way with a 68^th place finish. Over in the men's 8k championship race, the men's team finished in 11^th place with 277 points, highlighted by a seventh place showing from sophomore Tam Gavenas.

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

• Against a competitive field at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, the women's shined with its 15^th place finish, ending the race with 406 points.
• In just her second collegiate race, Curtis proved pivotal for the Crimson, leading the way with a 68^th place finish. A native of Ventura, California, Curtis finished the 6k course in 21:28.7
• Along with Curtis, four more Crimson finished in the top 100 in the women's 6k championship race. An All-Ivy League First Team honoree in cross country action last year and a five-time All-American on the track, senior Sophia Gorriaran took 75^th place with a time of 21:33.8, while first-year Greta Hammer posted a 21:37.2 to finish in 86^th place, while junior Abigail Sadler captured 99^th place after stopping the clock 21:53.8.
• First-year Siena Mackley rounded out Harvard's team scoring by finishing in 100^th place with a time of 21:54.4.
• In the men's 8k championship race, Harvard ended the day in 11^th in the team standings with 277 team points.
• In his season debut, Gavenas shined, running a 23:53.6 to finish in seventh place overall. Fellow sophomore Benjamin Bouie also finished in the top-30 in Terre Haute, Indiana, finishing in 28^th place after completing the course in 24:17.3.
• Sophomore Grant Schroder contributed to the team tally by capturing 59^th place with a time of 24:34.4, while senior Ethan Aidam stopped the clock at 24:39.4 to take 71^st place.
• It was a 112^th finish from sophomore Brady Mullen that saw the Crimson cement its spot in the team standings, as the New Orleans, Louisiana native ran a 25:06.4.
• At the Dartmouth Invite, a pair of Crimson contributed to a sixth place team finish in the men's 8k race with two top-10 showings, as first-year Baylor Miller finished in second place (24:48.2), while junior William Brunner ran a 24:57.2 to take eighth place.
• In the women's 6k race, sophomore Callie Wallace led the way by taking 62nd place with a time of 22:58.4.
