Jordan Knight, MEd, LAT, ATC

Jordan Knight joined the Harvard Sports Medicine staff during the 2014-15 academic year, and handles the athletic training needs for the baseball and football programs. He also coordinates medical services for the Crimson Football Camps.
 
Knight and fellow Harvard athletic trainer Nicolas Benitez were named the co-recipients of the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts (ATOM) Athletic Trainer of the Year Award in January 2019. The award is given annually to an athletic trainer who exhibits exemplary service to his or her patients and organization.
 
During his time working with the Harvard baseball team, Knight has provided care for 13 student-athletes that have gone on to sign professional contracts with Major League Baseball organizations, and was part of the program’s 2019 Ivy League-title run to the NCAA tournament.

The Treasurer for the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts Executive Committee, Knight is a contracted athletic trainer with USA Baseball. He is experienced in dry needling, blood flow restriction, and Graston and is also a CPR instructor through the American Red Cross.

Knight came to Harvard after spending his previous three years (2012-2014) at Auburn University. Prior to leaving Auburn, Knight was a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Tigers, where he worked closely with the football and baseball programs as well as serving as the liaison between the athletic trainers and team physician. During his time in Eastern Alabama, Knight worked with the Auburn football team that won the 2013 SEC championship en route to a BCS National Championship Game berth against Florida State. He also coordinated bi-weekly orthopedic clinics for athletes seen by Dr. James Andrews.

A native of East Waterboro, Maine, Knight graduated with a Master’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in sport biomechanics from Auburn University in 2014, and a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of Southern Maine in 2012.
