Alex Curtis started as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with Harvard in April 2024, working with the Crimson’s men’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s water polo programs.
With Harvard, Curtis develops and implements strength and conditioning programs, provides support for the internship curriculum, and coordinates strength programs alongside rehabilitation activities from athletic training.
Prior to Harvard, Curtis served as a strength and conditioning coordinator at Central Michigan University from 2021-24. Curtis implemented strength and conditioning programs for multiple teams, helping the football program win the 2021 Sun Bowl and the baseball program win back-to-back MAC titles (2021, 2022).
Curtis also served as an associate director of sports performance at Valparaiso University from 2019-21 and as an assistant director for football strength & conditioning at Western Kentucky University from 2018-19.
As an undergraduate and graduate student, Curtis completed multiple internships including stops at Morehead State University (2016-18), Army West Point (2017), Ohio State University (2016), the University of Cincinnati (2014-15), and Mount St. Joseph University (2013-14).
A 2015 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in health education; exercise and fitness, Curtis has earned a pair of master’s degrees – a Master’s of Arts in sport management from Morehead State University in 2018 and a Master of Health Administration from Central Michigan University in 2023.
Curtis holds a number of certifications including as a registered strength and conditioning coach, certified strength and conditioning specialist, strength and conditioning coach certified, and adult and pediatric first aid certified.
