Since 1982, Tim has advanced international higher education through a variety of positions in higher education encompassing international fund raising and program management at six major global academic institutions including most recently The American University of Beirut, Johns Hopkins University’s bi-national Hopkins-Nanjing Center and Harvard University.

In 2020, after 12 years serving as Managing Director, Asia-Pacific at Harvard’s Office of Alumni Affairs & Development, Tim retired from his active role to work on a variety of projects promoting the nonprofit sector.  In retirement Tim remains actively engaged at Harvard as an undergraduate academic advisor and member of the Kirkland House Senior Common Room.  In 2015, he joined Bill Alford as Faculty Fellow with the Crimson hockey team where he helps team members make lasting connections with alumni both at home and abroad including facilitating overseas summer internships.  In 2020 Tim and Bill Alford established the “Alford-Brown Prize” given annually to honor team members for their contributions both to the team and the campus community.  The 2022 Alford-Brown Prize recipients were Casey Dornbach (AB’22) and Derek Schaedig (AB’22).

Tim graduated in 1979 from SUNY Empire State College with a BA degree in The Arts; The American University School of International Service (MA, 1982); and Harvard University Graduate School of Education (EdM 1988, EdD 1991).
