Harvard University

Since 1982, Tim has advanced international education and cultural exchange through a variety of fundraising and program management positions at six major academic institutions including most recently the American University of Beirut, Johns Hopkins University’s bi-national Hopkins-Nanjing Center and Harvard University.

In 2020, after 12 years serving as Managing Director, Asia-Pacific at Harvard’s Office of Alumni Affairs & Development, Tim retired to work on a variety of projects promoting the nonprofit sector.  Tim remains actively engaged at Harvard as a member of the Board of First Year Advisors and through the Kirkland House Senior Common Room.  In 2015, he joined Bill Alford as Faculty Fellows with the Crimson hockey team where they work to enhance the team’s overall College experience by facilitating supportive relationships both within the University and beyond.  In 2020 Tim and Bill Alford established the “Alford-Brown Prize” given annually to honor team members for their contributions both to the team and the campus community.  The inaugural prize was awarded to Justin Szeto (AB’20).  The 2022 recipients were Casey Dornbach (AB’22) and Derek Schaedig (AB’22) followed in 2023 by Wyllum Deveaux (AB’23) and Jace Foskey (AB’23).
