Biography

Selected in the sixth round (162nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Rights traded to Arizona Coyotes, June 2017.

Voted co-captain...Second Team All-Ivy selection…Madsen had three shutouts (Dartmouth, Brown, Rensselaer) in 23 starts this season bringing his career total to 10 (Second in Harvard history)...Finished season 10-10-3 with a 2.27 goals-against average and .918 save percentage… Finished his Crimson career third on the all-time wins list (56), and moved into sole possession of third with his 50th career win against Rensselaer on Jan. 5. Fifth on the career goals-against average list (2.12), and first on the career save percentage list (.924).

Before Harvard: Spent last season with the Minot Minotaurs, finishing with a 10-16 record and 680 saves … Two-year starter in goal for Proctor Academy … Awarded the Spencer V. Wright Award for Athletic Achievement and Sportsmanship and was named to the NEPSIHA All-New England team as a senior … Skated for the West Valley Wolves and California Heat club teams … Was a member of the National Honors Society at Proctor Academy also earning the Lee Carvalho Award for Excellence in Mathematics … In the community he served as a volunteer student-coach for the California Heat and participated in the Dream Catchers Organization.
