Mohammad Ayaz

Mohammed Ayaz is in his 10th year as assistant coach with themen's and women's squash programs in 2009-10. He was Director ofSquash at Longfellow Club between 1997-2000.

Over the past 10 seasons, Ayaz has helped the Harvard's men'ssquash team earn 31 All-Ivy League honors, two Rookies of the Yearaccolades and one Player of the Year award. In addition, theCrimson has earned 23 All-American nods and has seen two playerswin the CSA individual national championship (Siddharth Suchde '07in 2007 and Colin West '10 in 2010).

The Harvard men claimed the Ivy League title in four seasons,winning the conference in 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

On the women's side, Lily Lorentzen '06 (2006), Kyla Griff '07(2007) and Laura Gemmell '13 (2010) took home the individualwomen's national title. Harvard has had 38 All-Americans and 28All-Ivy League honorees on the women's team during Ayaz's stint inCambridge, as well as five Rookie of the Year honors and threePlayer of the Year nods.

The women's program has also captured the CSA national team crownin 2001 and 2010, as well as the Ivy League title in 2001, 2002,2003, 2006 and 2010.

A graduate of Punjab University, Ayaz has been teaching andplaying squash at the professional level for the past 17 years. Hereceived his coaching certification in Spain and Pakistan. He andhis wife, Julie, have a daughter, Natasha.
