Satinder Bajwa

Satinder Bajwa is currently in his 11th season as head coach ofHarvard's men's and women's squash teams in 2009-10. Bajwa hasmentored world-class players and national champions from around theworld including the United States. Under his direction, the women'steam has won six Ivy League titles, while the men's squad ascaptured five conference crowns.  The women also won theCollege Squash Association (CSA) national championship (Howe Cup)in 2001 and 2010. The men's team also claimed the five-man USSRANational Team Championship the same year.

In the past 10 seasons, Harvard's men's squash team has seen 33All-Ivy League honors, two Rookies of the Year and one Player ofthe Year. The national spotlight has been even brighter withHarvard being recognized with 33 All-Americans in that same timeframe. He has posted an 82-33 record in men's play during histenure. In 2006-07, Siddharth Suchde '07 climbed the ladder toclaim his stake as the game's top player by winning the CSAIndividual National championship. Women's teammate and perrenialAll-America selection Kyla Grigg '07 matched the accomplishmentgiving Harvard the game's top players on either side.

During the 2009-10 season, Colin West '10 won the individual men'stitle, while Laura Gemmell '13 took home the women's individualcrown.

On the women's side, Harvard has had 30 All-Ivy League playersunder Bajwa. The women have had five Rookie of the Year honors,three Player of the Year honors, and three CSA individual nationalchampions, while being recognized with 38 All-Americans. Bajwa hasposted a 93-28 overall record with the women and guided the teamall the way to the national championship in 2010.

Bajwa served as the head coach at the United States MilitaryAcademy (1985-88) before returning to the United Kingdom to take onthe challenge of International (soft ball) squash. Back in London,he initially represented and managed the Stripes Club's NationalSquash League team before moving on to work in the development andpromotional aspects of the game. His 10-year stint in this areaallowed him to direct many world class players, including one ofthe greatest players of all time, Jansher Khan.

Concurrently, Bajwa is the President and Founder of CompleteSports Solutions (CSS) which consults with industry experts such asOctagon. Bajwa currently partners with WSM to promote the SuperSeries Squash Finals. His company - CSS - owns exclusive rights forthe promotion of the Super Series Squash Finals featuring theworld's eight best players. The event is now in its 11th year andis an annual sporting fixture on the United Kingdom sportingcalendar.

Bajwa made his return to United States collegiate coaching in1998 with his appointment as head coach at Bowdoin College inBrunswick, Maine, where he led the men's team to its best seasonever.

An American citizen, Bajwa was born in India and schooled in theUnited Kingdom. As a player, he was ranked on both the NorthAmerican hard ball and the International squash tours during the1980s. Still competing as a senior, Bajwa has won the US NationalChampionships in the over 35 and over 45 age categories.

A graduate of London Southall College of Technology, he and hiswife Surinder, have three children: sons Pehlaaj and Cherrag, anddaughter Kimran. The family resides in Huron Village situated inCambridge, Mass.
