Harvard University

Aaron DeKalb joined the Crimson staff in April of 2026 and is entering his first year at Harvard during the 2026 season.

DeKalb arrives in Cambridge after most recently serving as an assistant coach at Duke, where he joined the Blue Devils program in February 2025. Prior to his time at Duke, DeKalb completed two separate stints as an assistant coach at Cornell. From 2021-23, he helped recruit and develop multiple All-Ivy honorees during his second stop in Ithaca.

In his first stint with the Big Red from 2015-18, DeKalb played a key role in the program's turnaround. Cornell recorded its best single-season improvement in 2016 with a 12-12 record, doubling its win total from the previous season.

Beyond his time at Cornell, DeKalb served as an assistant coach at the University of Mary from 2019-21 and began his coaching career as a student assistant at Grand View University from 2014-15. He has also coached at the club level with Johnston Volleyball Club, Precision Volleyball Club, and Going Gold Volleyball Club.

As a student-athlete, DeKalb attended Belmont Abbey College before transferring to Grand View University, where he won a conference championship in 2014. DeKalb graduated from Grand View University in 2015 with a degree in sports management and earned his master's degree in sports management from Bournemouth University in 2020.
