Four-year letterwinner at Winterset High School and captained the wrestling team all four years … Placed fifth at the Iowa High School State Championships as a senior at 126 lbs., took fourth as a junior at 113 lbs. and was the runner-up as a sophomore at 106 lbs. … Was also the runner-up at the 2011 Folkstyle Nationals and placed third at the 2011 Junior Freestyle Nationals.
