A.J. Soares joined the Harvard men’s soccer coaching staffprior to the 2013 season as a volunteer assistant. Soares iscurrently a member of the New England Revolution (MLS) and has beenwith the Revolution since 2011.

In two full seasons with New England, Soares has started 66games, totaling three goals and more than 5,700 minutes. A SolanaBeach, Calif., native, Soares attended California from 2007-10,starting in 77 games in his time with the Bears. He led the squadto three NCAA tournament appearances (2007, 2008 and 2010),including a run to the national quarterfinals his senior season. Hewas a two-time all-region selection and a three-time All-Pac 10pick. In 2010, he was selected as a first-team NSCAA All-Americanand was named Pac-10 Player of the Year.

Soares holds a sociology degree from Cal and enjoys playing theguitar, yoga and surfing in his spare time.
