TommyAmaker’s coaching staff.With Cohen on board, the 2013-14 Crimson set program records foroverall wins (27) and conference victories (13) en route to theteam's fourth consecutive Ivy League title and a third straightappearance in the NCAA tournament. During March Madness, the12th-seeded Crimson knocked off fifth-seeded Cincinnati in thetournament's second round, and nearly pulled off an upset offourth-seeded Michigan State to reach the Sweet 16. Harvard alsowon the Great Alaska Shootout along the way, and a record sixCrimson were named to the All-Ivy League teams, including player ofthe year Wesley Saunders '15.
Cohen arrived in Cambridge after spending the 2012-13 seasonwith the Rice Owls. There he worked primarily with the perimeterplayers, including Max Guercy who was named to the Conference USAAll-Freshman team after garnering five freshman of the week honors.Cohen was also heavily involved in the Owls’ recruitingefforts, helping to secure the next season’s class ofincoming freshmen.
Prior to joining the Rice staff, Cohen spent three seasons atSouthern Cal where he climbed the ranks from video coordinator todirector of basketball operations. During his final season at USC,Cohen was responsible for assisting in scouting preparation, filmexchange and breakdown, and oversight of USC basketball camps. Healso served as a liaison with the compliance department and workedclosely with student-athletes on their academic progress.
Cohen began his coaching career in 2008-09 as a graduateassistant at New Orleans.
A 2008 graduate of Arizona, Cohen served as a student managerand assistant video coordinator for three years under NaismithMemorial Hall of Fame coach Lute Olson. Cohen worked with sixfuture NBA players while with the Wildcats and aided the program to59 total wins and three NCAA Tournament appearances. He receivedhis bachelor’s degree in political science in May of2008.
Cohen currently serves on the board of director for RisingCoaches Elite, an organization created by collegiate coaches forcollegiate coaches that offers collaborative assistance, networkingand avenues for career growth. He has also worked numerous summercamps, including Five Star, Arizona, Buffalo and USC. He also ran acamp in Chengdu, China during the summer of 2007 for NikeBasketball.
Cohen is a Buffalo, N.Y., native where he attended WilliamsvilleNorth High School. He was a four-year letterwinner in basketballand captained the team as a senior.
