Ahen Kim has joined Jen Weiss’ staff for the 2012 seasonafter coaching stints at Houston Baptist University, GeorgeWashington University and Catholic University.

Kim spent the 2012 season at Houston Baptist where he helped theHuskies to a 22-9 record and an appearance in the Great WestConference Tournament semifinals. There he was responsible foron-court training of the team’s defensive specialists andoutside hitters, recruiting, scouting and film breakdown. Followingthe season head coach Kaddie Platt was named the GWC Coach of theYear, while senior libero Courtney Whittleman and freshman outsidehitter Jasmine Casey were named the conference’s DefensivePlayer of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively.

Prior to his term at Houston Baptist, Kim served one season as amember of George Washington’s coaching staff, working withthe team’s setters, outside hitters and passers. While withthe Colonials he was also responsible for film breakdown,recruiting and fundraising. He began his coaching career atCatholic University in 2009. The Cardinals finished that seasonwith a 24-14 record, marking a 16-win improvement over the previousseason.

Kim graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 2007 witha bachelor’s degree in sociology & American government.He was also a four-year member of the school’s men’svolleyball club team and served as head coach for the 2006-07seasons.
