Andrew Quinn

Former Major League Soccer (MLS) goalkeeper Andrew Quinn joinedthe Harvard coaching staff as a coaching assistant on April 21,2011.

In his first season in Cambridge, Quinn, who works primarilywith Harvard’s goalkeepers, helped coach the Crimson to earnthree shutouts. In addition, goalie Austin Harms finished in theHarvard record books with 18 career clean sheets.

Quinn joined the Crimson staff after serving as a volunteercoach at Georgetown for one season. He helped the Hoyas to theprogram’s first Big East title in 15 years and their firstNCAA appearance since 1994.

"He will add strength to an already excellentgoal keeping squad.  Andrew is very knowledgeable and hasplayed at a high level.  We’re very fortunate to haveAndrew and I look forward to integrating his qualities with thoseof our staff and our team.  Under Bobby Clark (at Notre Dame),Andrew was recognized as one of the top goal keepers in the countryand his college success led him into a professional playing careerin the MLS.”

During his first year in Cambridge, Quinn helped the Crimsonearn three shutouts and posted a team goals-against average of1.51.

A member of D.C. United in 2010, Quinn earned a roster spot onthe MLS squad despite not being selected in the MLS Draft. Quinnalso worked with the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy and wasresponsible for training all of D.C. United U-16 goalkeepers.

Quinn will also serve as the goalkeepers coach for the BostonBreakers women's professional soccer team during the summer of2012.
 
A 2010 graduate from Notre Dame with a degree in psychology andsociology, Quinn started 37 games in goal, posting nine careershutouts and making 119 saves with the Fighting Irish. He was afour-time Big East Academic All-Star and was a member of two BigEast regular season championship teams, as well as squads thatreached the Elite Eight in 2006 and 2007.
