Former Boston Celtics video coordinator Brian Adams was named anassistant coach with the Harvard men’s basketball team onJune 15, 2011.
In his first year in Cambridge, Adams and the Crimsonestablished a school record with 26 victories, and Harvard won itssecond straight Ivy League title, earning a berth in the NCAAtournament for the first time since 1946. The Crimson swept theBattle 4 Atlantis tournament and reached as high as No. 21 in theESPN/USA Today poll and No. 22 in the AP poll.
During the 2012-13 season, Harvard went 20-10 overall and postedan 11-3 mark in conference play en route to the Crimson's thirdconsecutive Ivy League crown. While making its second straight NCAAtournament appearance, the Crimson upset third-seeded New Mexico inthe second round, earning the program's first postseason victory.Siyani Chambers was tabbed the Ivy League Rookie of the Year, andhe, along with Wesley Saunders, received All-Ivy first teamhonors.
Adams, who spent the five years with the Celtics, was a memberof the organization when Boston won the NBA title in 2008. Afterserving as a video intern for the Celtics in 2005-06, Adams waspromoted to video coordinator and spent four seasons in thatcapacity with the franchise.
With the Celtics, Adams was responsible for recording andediting all of the Celtics’ and upcoming opponents’games, as well as providing scouting video used in pre and postgameviewings with the Celtics and the team’s coaching staff.
A native of Pine Plains, N.Y., Adams began his career as abasketball operations intern for the New York Knicks. He ran track& field and was the men’s basketball team manager as anundergraduate at Connecticut College, where he earned abachelor’s degree in psychology in 2006.
