Kris Barber

Kris Barber joined the Harvard coaching staff in February, 2011and serves as the program’s wide receivers coach. Barber willassist in the recruiting efforts in a number of states includingHawaii, Nevada, Idaho, Alaska, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming,Montana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota andIowa.

Barber comes to Harvard after spending the previous four seasonsas an assistant coach at Division II power Colorado School of Mines(Golden, Colo.). Barber served as the Orediggers' passing-gamecoordinator and video coordinator, including coaching of theprogram’s tight ends and H-backs.

Barber oversaw a prolific offense that helped guide CSM to theDivision II playoffs in 2010 as his team ranked sixth nationally inpassing and 12th in first downs while the Orediggers hadthree receivers rank among the top 25 nationally in receptions pergame.

Barber coached eight All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conferencehonorees in his three years including the school’s singleseason and career leader in touchdown receptions in Adam Saur.

Barber has previously served as an assistant football coach forthe United States Coast Guard Academy, a position he held in1997. Barber also spent time as a player/coach for the OsloTrolls (Oslo, Norway) in 1997.  His final season as a playercame in 2002 when he was also a player/coach for the Arlanda Jets(Stockholm, Sweden).

A 1997 graduate of Yale University, Barber competed for threeseasons on the Bulldogs' football team. Barber also played twoseasons at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kan., priorto enrolling at Yale. After graduating and aside from his coachingexperience, Barber spent seven years in the investment bankingindustry.
