Ron Crook enters his ninth season as Harvard's offensive linecoach in 2011-12.
Since joining the Crimson staff in 2003, Crook has seen hisoffensive line provide the foundation for the Ivy League's all-timerushing leader in Clifton Dawson ’07, while eight of Crook'splayers have achieved first-team All-Ivy League status a combined11 times.
Tackle James Williams ’10 was a three-time All-America andfirst-team All-Ivy selection while the Crimson has had a total of16 players earn all-league honors in the past four seasons alone.In 2009, four of Harvard's linemen took home all-league honorswhile Treavor Scales '13 was named the league's rookie of the year.In 2010, Crook's offensive line had three All-Ivy League selectionsin blocking for player of the year Gino Gordon '11.
Tackles Brian Lapham ’06 and Will Johnson ’06 wereboth two-time first-team picks, while center Frank Fernandez '07was chosen for the 2007 Hula Bowl in 2006.
Crook has 21 years of collegiate experience, including stints atIllinois, West Liberty State, Clarion and Cincinnati.
At Illinois, Crook helped coach the offensive line and workedwith All-Big Ten players Dave Diehl and 2001 All-America TonyPashos, who were both selected in the 2003 NFL draft.
Crook is currently in his second tour of duty with Harvard headcoach Tim Murphy. He was a graduate assistant on Murphy's staff atCincinnati, when the Bearcats finished an impressive 8-3 in the1993 season and won the IFA championship.
At West Liberty State, Crook was first an offensive line coachand then offensive coordinator. The Hilltoppers won the 2000 WVIACChampionship, while the 2001 team ranked first in the conference inthree offensive categories and second in three others. A decadeearlier, Crook broke into the coaching ranks at West Liberty State.He spent the 1989 season as a student assistant working with thetight ends and the 1990-92 seasons as an assistant coach with theoffensive line.
Crook has also coached at West Virginia Tech (1999), GlenvilleState (1997-98) and Clarion (1994-96). He was part of NCAA DivisionII playoff teams at Glenville State and Clarion.
Crook is a 1989 graduate of West Liberty State, where he earneda degree in physical education. He and his wife, Stacy, reside inWatertown, Mass., with their sons, Andrew and Cian, and theirdaughter, Kenley.
