Wayne Berger

Wayne begins his sixth season working with the Harvardheavyweights. He works primarily with the third and fourth varsityeights and varsity fours.

Berger has been instrumental in the success of the Crimson rowersover the last four years. His third varsity eight won the thirdvarsity eight grand final, while his fourth varsity eight finishedsecond in the same event at the 2008 EARC Sprints. The thirdvarsity eight went on to place fourth in the second varsity eightpetite final at the IRA National Championships.

In 2007, the third varsity eight won Sprints and the petite finalat the IRA National Championships. The boat finished second at theSprints at both the 2005 and 2006 Sprints. His combination eighthas won three H-Y regattas as well.

Berger also works with the Boston Rowing Club. Under his directionhis boats have been successful at the Independence Day Regatta,Royal Canadian Henley, US Nationals and the Cromwell Club.

He worked in a variety of roles at the Groton School from1993-2005, serving as history teacher, dorm supervisor, associatedirector for admission and rowing coach.

Berger, a 1988 graduate of Cornell, swam and rowed for the BigRed. He was a Cornell National Scholar.
