Ellen Estes Lee joined the Harvard men's and women's water poloteams for her first season as assistant coach in 2007-08. Afour-time All-America selection at Stanford, Lee was also a memberof the United States National Team. Following her sophomore year at Stanford, Lee made her firstappearance for the U.S., which was making its Olympic debut at the2000 Sydney Games. The U.S. had a big showing and came away with asilver medal. Lee returned to Stanford and, as a co-captain in her senioryear, led Stanford to its first NCAA national Championship in 2002before graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, Lee relocated to Long Beach, Calif. to trainfor the 2004 games. The U.S. Women's team claimed the 2003 WorldChampionships in Barcelona, Spain and the 2003 Pan American Gamesin Santo Domingo. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, the U.S. finishin third place with the bronze medal. After the Olympics, Lee became an engineer for Boeing'sSatellite Development Center in El Segundo, Calif. until 2007 whenshe and her husband, Austin, moved to Boston. Lee is currentlyenrolled in the Harvard Business School and Austin, a formerfootball player at Stanford, works in marketing for the school'sDepartment of Athletics. |
