CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard
women's volleyball team lost a tough 3-1 match to league
unbeaten Penn Saturday afternoon at the Malkin Athletic Center.
Junior Mikaelle Comrie led the Crimson (7-10, 3-3 Ivy) with 15
kills in the 25-15, 26-24, 22-25, 25-16 loss.
Senior Lily Durwood led the Crimson with 30 assists and 10 digs
and also posted three blocks. Sophomore Sandra Lynne Fryhofer was
second on the team in kills with nine and hit a team-best .375 for
the match. Classmate Christine Wu and senior Katherine Kocurek
added nine digs apiece. Second-year Ann Carroll Ingersoll paced the
Crimson with seven blocks, giving her 15 over the weekend.
Harvard out blocked the Quakers, 10-9, but Penn held the advantage
in kills, 61-46, and digs, 58-48.
The Crimson takes to the road for a pair of Ivy League matches at
Brown (Oct. 23) and Yale (Oct. 24).
