Women's Volleyball Travels to Penn, Princeton for Penultimate Regular Season Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball (16-3, 7-3 Ivy) kicks off the penultimate regular season weekend with a trip to Penn (11-9, 3-7 Ivy) and Princeton (8-10, 6-4 Ivy). The Crimson and the Quakers face off at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, while first serve against the Tigers is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.

What to Know

  • Harvard finished last weekend 2-0 with its third and fourth straight five-set wins over Brown and Yale. The Crimson came back from down two sets in both matches to win at the Malkin Athletic Center. Harvard handed Yale its second Ivy League loss of the season after first defeating the Bulldogs 3-2 on Oct. 3 in New Haven.

  • Head coach Jennifer Weiss secured her 400th career victory with the win against Yale. She is just the second coach in Harvard history to eclipse 400 wins, and she led Harvard to its first season sweep of Yale since 2014. Weiss is the third-longest tenured coach in Division I volleyball and has garnered all of her wins with the Crimson.

  • Sophomore outside hitter Bridget Egan had another stellar weekend for the Crimson. Egan logged back-to-back-to-back matches with 10 or more kills after matching her career high 15 against Brown and knocking down 10 in the win over Yale. The sophomore also posted 11 and 13 digs, respectively, and matched another career high with four blocks versus the Bears.

  • Junior middle blocker Riley Resmer matched her career high seven kills against the Bulldogs on 17 swings. First-year opposite hitter Masina Ogbechie and Resmer posted 11 of Harvard's 18 block assists. Ogbechie also added five kills and four digs to the match.

  • Reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Week Kayla Nwabueze ended the weekend with 18 kills, 20 digs, three aces and three blocks.
