The Particulars
Harvard opens up its 99th season of play with a road trip to
Worcester, Mass. to take on the Holy Cross Crusaders Friday at 7
p.m. at the Hart Recreation Center.

Series History
Harvard leads the all-time series, 40-21, which began in
1900-01. The teams have played every year since 1976, alternating
home courts yearly.
The Last Meeting
Jeremy Lin went 9-15 from the field and added eight points
from the charity stripe as he scored 30 points in Harvard's 69-59
win over Holy Cross Nov. 25, 2008 at Lavietes Pavilion.
The teams were tied going into halftime, but the
Crimson used a five-point spurt by Lin to give Harvard the lead to
start the second half. Max Kenyi added 13 points, including going
8-8 from the free throw line. Evan Harris scored nine for the
Crimson and pulled down eight rebounds. Keith Wright led the
rebounding efforts for the Crimson as he grabbed 12 on the night.
Harvard converted on 32 of 39 free throw attempts off 24 Holy
Cross fouls, while limiting themselves to only 15 fouls as a team.
Harvard's Last Time

Harvard ended its 2008-09 campaign with a 69-59 win over
Ivy League rival Yale Mar. 7, 2008 in New Haven, Conn. The Crimson
led by just one at the half, but used a two-point jumper by Keith
Wright to kick off the second half. Harvard shot over 58 percent in
the second half, connecting on 14-24 shots.
Jeremy Lin led all scorers with 19 and became the first Harvard
player to reach the 1,000-point plateau in his junior season since
1996 when Kyle Snowden '97 accomplished the feat. Drew Housman
scored 15 points and finished his career with 1,228 points - good
for 14th place on Crimson's all-time list.
Holy Cross' Last Time

The Crusaders ended the 2008-09 season with a 73-57 loss
to American University in the Patriot League tournament
championship game Mar.13, 2008 at Bender Arena in Washington, D.C.
Freshman R.J. Evans led Holy Cross with 16 points and senior Pat
Doherty added 13 points.
The Crusaders out-rebounded American, 39-33, with
junior Eric Meister grabbing 12 and Evans pulled down eight of his
own.
Despite shooting 70 percent in the second half, the Crusaders
were unable to overcome a 20-point deficit.
Harvard Coach Tommy
Amaker
Tommy Amaker (Duke '87) begins his third season as head
coach of the Harvard men's basketball team. In his first two
seasons, the Crimson went 22-36 overall, 9-19 in Ivy League play.
He brings a 199-174 career head coaching record into tonight's
season opener, including a 109-83 record at Michigan at a 68-55
record at Seton Hall.
Amaker came to Harvard after a six year stint as
Michigan's head coach. Inheriting a program that was reeling from
institutional and NCAA sanctions, he led the Wolverines to the
postseason three times, winning the 2004 NIT title, reaching the
championship game of the 2006 NIT, and advancing to the second
round of the 2007 tournament. The 2006-07 season was Michigan's
second straight 20-win campaign and its third in four years. The
Wolverines were ranked as high as No. 20 in the nation during the
2005-06 season.
