Story Line
Harvard closes out its home campaign this weekend with conference matches against Yale and Brown. The Crimson takes on the Bulldogs Friday at 7 p.m. and hosts the Bears Saturday at 4 p.m. for senior day.

Scouting the Crimson
Harvard defeated Columbia and Cornell last weekend to improve to 10-11 overall and 6-4 in the Ivy League. Mikaelle Comrie averaged 3.875 kills for the Crimson in the wins,registering a career-high 21 kills in a 3-2 win over Columbia.

Comrie leads the Crimson in kills per set with 2.87, while Anne Caroll Ingersoll leads the team and league in blocks with 1.08 per set. She is fourth in the Ancient Eaight in hitting with a .303 clip, while Sandra Lynne Fryhofer is second with a .313 percentage. With three aces against Columbia,  Taylor Docter moved into the team lead in aces with 0.29. Lily Durwood paces the team in assists with 9.63 per set, which ranks fourth in the Ivies. Christine Wu leads the team in digs with 5.14, which also ranks fourth.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Yale comes to Cambridge with a 17-3 overall record and a 7-2 mark in Ancient Eight play. The Bulldogs have won 13 of their last 15 games after a split against Penn and Princeton last weekend. Columbia and Penn are the only two Ivy League teams to win a set against the Bulldogs in conference action.

Cat Dailey paces the team and the Ivy League in kills per set with 4.12. She also leads the team and is second in the Ivies in service aces with 0.34. Kerry Clavadetscher is second in the league in assists with 10.75 per set. Defensively, Kelly Osurovich leads the team and is second in the league with 5.29 digs per set, and Taylor Cramm is second in the Ivies in blocks with 0.97 per set.

The Series: Yale holds a 34-19 lead in the all-time series and has won nine straight contests. Harvard's last victory over its long time rival came on Oct. 22, 2004 at the Malkin Athletic Center.

Scouting the Bears
Brown picked up its first Ivy League win against Dartmouth on Oct. 24 and will meet the Big Green Friday night in Hanover, N.H. The Bears enter the weekend with 5-15 overall mark and a 1-8 conference record.

Megan Toman continues to the lead the Bears offense with 2.38 kills per set. Spencer McAndrews and Alexandra Ilistad have split time as setter with 6.19 and 5.56 assists per set, respectively. Carly Cotton leads the league in service aces with 0.36 per set. Cotton also paces the team in digs with 5.14 per set, while Danielle Vaughn has a team-best 0.83 blocks per set.

The Series: The Crimson increased its lead in the overall series to 35-21 with a 3-0 win over the Bears two weeks ago. Harvard has won two straight over its rival from Rhode Island. The teams have split the series the past three years.

Climbing the Ladder
Katherine Kocurek is just four digs away from the program record for career digs. Entering the weekend, she has 1,360 career digs, three behind Melissa Forcum '99. Earlier in the season, classmate Lily Durwood became the third Harvard player to surpass the 3,000 mark in assists. She enters the weekend with 3,221 hand outs, 1,064 behind Mindy Jellin '03 who is second on the Harvard list.

Seniors
This weekend's matches are the final two home contests for Harvard's four seniors. Lily Duwood and Chelsea Ono Horn have played in all 98 matches thus far in their careers. Durwood is third on the all-time assists list (3,221) and tied for seventh on the all-time aces list (87). She also has 733 digs, 87 blocks and 74 kills to her credit. Ono Horn is 10th on the all-time aces list (80). She has 732 digs, 342 kills, 117 blocks and 94 assists to her credit. Katherine Kocruek has played in 91 matches and currently ranks second on the all-time digs list (1,360). She has 77 aces and 60 assists to her credit. Alissa Flescher has been a utility player for the Crimson appearing in 66 matches for the Crimson. She has 269 kills, 102 blocks, 46 digs and 19 assists.

Crimson Capsule
Harvard has won at least 10 contests for the second year in a row … The Crimson has six conference wins for the first time since 2004 … Last month, Harvard snapped Princeton's 12 match win streak over the Crimson and Cornell's nine-match series win streak over the Crimson … Mikaelle Comrie has recorded 37 kills in the last two Friday night matches, giving the junior outside hitter 4.63 kills per set in those two matches … Anne Carroll Ingersoll has a block in 17 of the 18 matches she has played in … Christine Wu has posted double-digit digs in 18 of the Crimson's 21 contests … Lily Durwood has 40 or more assists in seven match this fall.

On the Horizon
Harvard closes out its 2009 season at Penn and Princeton next weekend. The Crimson takes on the Quakers Friday at 7 p.m. and the Tigers Saturday at 4 p.m.
