CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Jamie Clark, the Virginia B. and James O. Welch, Jr. '52 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Soccer, has announced that nine student-athletes will join the Crimson in the fall of 2009. 

The group consists of four defenders, two forwards, two goalkeepers and one midfielder.  The class also includes three players from Massachusetts and New York and one each from California, Florida and England.

The addition of nine players brings the 2009 Harvard roster to a total of 27 student-athletes, as the Crimson will look to reach the NCAA Championship for the fourth consecutive season.  Last year, Harvard advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and posted a 12-6-0 record.

John Bryant, Goalkeeper, Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central

Named all-Section, all-State and an NSCAA Scholar All-American as a senior ... Four-year member of the Eastern New York North Olympic Development Program team ... Led squad to 2007 and 2009 state cup final ... Invited to the Super Y League ODP National Camp ... Captain of the East Fishkill Thunder travel team from 2006-09.

Brett Conrad, Goalkeeper, Orleans, Mass./Nauset Regional

Honored as Atlantic Coast League Player of the Year in 2008 ... Two-time Atlantic Coast League All-Star ... Named Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic  ... Selected as Boston Globe Division 2 Player of the Year in 2008 ... Named Eastern Massachusetts All-Star, all-state, All-New England and All-America senior year ... First All-American in school history ... Named ACL Defensive Player of the Year in 2007 ... Posted 30 career shutouts at Nauset Regional ... Led team to state championship as a sophomore with a 22-0-1 record and a No. 6 national ranking, as well as conference championships sophomore and junior years ... Member of the Stars of Massachusetts club team that was a U-15 Massachusetts State Cup semifinalist in 2006 ... Member of FC Greater Boston Bolts that won the U-16 Massachusetts State Championship and was a U-16 Region I tournament finalist in 2007.
