Named Ivy League Co-Player of the Week
The Game:
Harvard, which is receiving votes in the Soccer Times and
NSCAA national polls this week, looks to grab its third straight
win to start the season as the team hosts No. 14 Boston
University.
The Crimson is coming off a 2-0 road win at Boston College Monday,
the first victory for Harvard over the Eagles since the 2000
season. Harvard won its season opener, 4-1, against Stony Brook on
Sept. 4.

Series History:
Harvard leads the all-time series, 22-11-7, against the Terriers.
Last season, BU got the better of the Crimson, as the Terriers
topped Harvard, 5-1, Sept. 30, 2008 at Nickerson Field. Andre Akpan
tallied the lone Crimson goal. Harvard last defeated BU at Ohiri
Field on Sept. 14, 2007, as the Crimson earned a 2-1 win. Akpan
scored one of the Harvard goals, while the other was credited as an
own goal.
Century Man:
With a five-point effort on two goals and an assist against Stony
Brook Sept. 4, Andre Akpan became the first Harvard player to amass
more than 100 points in a career. Akpan has 37 goals and 30 assists
for 104 points.
About Harvard:
The Crimson has won the last seven regular season games at home,
dating back to last season. The team is outsoring opponents by a
6-1 margin and holds a slight edge in corner kicks, 9-8. Harvard
has not allowed a goal in 152:25 minutes, since the first half of
the game against Stony Brook.
With seven points this fall, Akpan leads the Harvard offensive
attack with two goals and three assists. Freshmen Brian Rogers and
Scott Prozeller are tied for second with three points on a goal and
an assist, while Jamie Rees and Desmond Mitchell have also scored
goals this fall.
Austin Harms has started both games in net for Harvard and is 2-0
with one shutout and a miniscule 0.51 goals-against average. He has
faced nine shots on goal, stopping eight of them and boasts a .889
save percentage.
About Boston University:
The 14th-ranked Terriers enter the game with a 2-0-1 mark, as the
team has defeated Connecticut and Providence by identical 3-0
scores. BU also tied Massachusetts in a road game, 1-1, to open the
season. The Terriers are outscoring opponents, 7-1.
Aaron O'Neal guides the Terrier offense and boasts a
team-best four goals and nine points. Ben Berube has netted one
goal and handed out two assists, while Michael Bustamante leads the
way with three helpers.
Between the pipes, Hrafn Davidsson has played every minute and
owns a 0.31 goals-against average. He has recorded two shutouts and
has made 14 saves, while surrendering only one goal.
Blank Sheets:
Harvard goalkeeper Austin Harms has seven shutouts in his career,
including one this fall. He had six as a freshman in 2008.
They're Honored:
With his opening week performance with seven points, Andre Akpan
was tabbed the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week. Meanwhile, Scott
Prozeller was named to the Ivy League honor roll after tallying the
game-winning goal at Boston College.
