DURHAM, N.H. – The Harvard women's
volleyball won the first set, 25-20, against Wyoming, but the
Cowboys came back and won the final three sets, 25-21, 25-23,
26-24, Saturday evening in the final game of the Holly Young
Invitational. The contest featured 17 ties and eight lead changes.
Senior Lily Durwood handed out 46 assists, collected nine digs and
posted four blocks to earn a spot on the all-tournament team.
Freshman Taylor Docter recorded her first collegiate
double-double, leading the Crimson (3-7) with 14 kills on 37 kills
for a .351 clip and 10 digs. Junior Mikaelle Comrie and sophomore
Sandra Lynne Fryhofer contributed 13 and 11 strikes each.
Defensively, sophomore Christine Wu led all players with 24 digs.
Senior Alissa Flescher added eight kills and five blocks.
Harvard had a big night at the net, posting nine team blocks. The
Crimson held the advantage in digs, 79-70, but the Cowboys had more
kills, 72-64.
