Ivy League Standings
The Particulars:
No. 5 Harvard travels to No. 2 Yale Saturday for the final match
of the regular season. The Crimson, which sits at 4-1 in the
Ivy League, is hoping to grab a share of the Ivy League title with
a win over the Bulldogs. Harvard is 5-3 overall, while Yale
stands at 10-1 and 5-0 in the Ancient Eight. Princeton is
also in the running for an Ivy League title, as they sport a 5-1
mark in conference matches.
Harvard, which last won a share of the Ivy League title in 2006,
has claimed 36 Ancient Eight titles in program history, the most of
any school for squash.

Last Time Out:
The Crimson earned victories at the No. 1 and 2 slots, but could
not pick up a win elsewhere, as No. 4 Princeton defeated Harvard at
the Barnaby Courts Feb. 7. Colin West topped Todd Harrity at
the No. 1 position, 3-1 (11-7, 12-10, 5-11, 11-9), while Richard
Hill handled Christopher Callis, 3-1 (8-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-5).
About Harvard:
The Crimson owns a 5-3 record coming into the weekend and is 4-1
against Ancient Eight opponents after picking up a split last
weekend in matches against No. 8 Penn and No. 4 Princeton. At the
No. 1 spot, Colin West has an impressive 7-1 record, while Richard
Hill is 5-3 at the No. 2 position, J. Reed Endresen has a 5-3
record at the No. 4 slot and Jason Michas has won five of his six
matches at the No. 5 position.
About Yale:
The Bulldogs have won three straight matches, downing Navy, 8-1,
Jan. 23, Princeton, 5-4, Jan. 30 and Brown, 6-3, Feb. 6. Yale
has also topped Penn, 9-0, Dec. 5, Dartmouth, 8-1, Jan. 9 and
Cornell, 9-0, Jan. 16 in other Ivy League matches. Against
the Bears, Yale won the top six matches, as the Elis clinched at
least a share of the Ivy League title.
Last Year's Meeting:
The Crimson and the Bulldogs last met at the Barnaby Courts Feb.
11, 2009, a 5-4 win for Yale. Harvard's Colin West picked up
a win at the No. 1 position, while Niko Hrdy (No. 3) , J. Reed
Endresen (No. 5) and Richard Hill (No. 6) also defeated opponents
in a narrow victory for the Elis.
Down the Stretch:
After facing Yale in the regular-season finale Saturday, Harvard
will prepare for the CSA Team Championships, hosted by the Bulldogs
Feb. 19-21. The Crimson placed fourth in last year's
tournament, defeating Cornell in the opening round.
League Supreme:
Harvard and Princeton have won 52 combined Ivy League
championships. The Crimson and the Tigers have won 34 of the past
35 Ivy League titles. The teams shared the crown in 1988-89. Yale
has also earned a share of two Ivy League championships during that
stretch and won the crown outright in 1990.
It's Been a Great Run:
Saturday's match is the final regular season contest for Harvard
seniors Franklin Cohen, Alex Lavoie and Colin West. The three
Crimson players have combined for 58 career individual victories
and helped the Crimson win 26 matches over the past four seasons.
