Harvard earned its third win of the season against New Hampshire (Gil Talbot).

DURHAM, N.H. – The Harvard women's volleyball team earned its third win of the season, downing New Hampshire in five sets Tuesday night. With the win, the Crimson ups its record to 3-10 on the year while UNH falls to 5-10 overall.

The two teams split sets to start the match as Harvard claimed the opening set 25-22 and the Wildcats answered back with a 25-16 win in the second stanza. The hosts claimed the first point of the third set but on the strength of five kills, the Crimson claimed the next 12 points to vault to a commanding 12-1 lead. UNH was unable to close the gap and Harvard hit .478 for the set to claim a 25-10 win in the third stanza and take a 2-1 match lead.

The fourth set saw the teams remain close through the first half as Harvard tied the score at 12 on a UNH error. The Crimson maintained a slim lead through the middle part of the set thanks to kills by Teresa Skelly, Erin Cooney and Taylor Docter, but a Destiny Toliver kill knotted the score at 21-all late in the set. The hosts managed to secure the next four points to push the match to a decisive fifth set.

The Crimson grabbed an early lead in the final set and a .529 hitting percentage enabled the Crimson to cruise to a 15-6 win and a 3-2 match victory. Consecutive kills by Skelly and Anne Carroll Ingersoll sealed the match for the Crimson.

Ingersoll led the Crimson with 11 kills and hit .435 on the match, while Skelly added nine kills, hit .400 for the match and added a team-high three blocks. Natalie Doyle added 20 assists and Christine Wu had a team-high 16 digs. Lauren Laquerre led the Wildcats with 17 kills and 15 digs while Sara Heldman had a match-high 44 assists.

Harvard is back in action Friday as it returns home to host league rival Dartmouth in a 7 p.m., showdown.
