CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Boston College defeated
the Harvard women's volleyball team, 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-13), in
the finale of the Harvard Invitational Saturday night at Malkin
Athletic Center. The Crimson's Sandra Lynne
Fryhofer and Christine Wu were
named to the all-tournament team following the match.
Fryhofer registered four kills to finish the weekend with 19, to
go with eight blocks, six digs and an ace. Wu's six digs against
the Eagles gave her 62 over the 12 weekend sets. Saturday night's
match followed a thrilling five-game win for Harvard (1-2) against
Bryant in the afternoon.
Brennan Clark and Val Mattaliano led the Eagles (4-3) with 11
kills each. Tsvetelina Dureva registered eight kills and a
match-high 14 digs to earn all-tournament selection, along with
Mattaliano.
Freshman Teresa Skelly led
Harvard with six kills against the Eagles, while Natalie Doyle
handed out 19 assists and recorded eight digs.
