CANTON, N.Y. - The No. 6 Harvard men's squash
team won its first match of the weekend, sweeping No. 14 St.
Lawrence, 9-0, Friday night. The Crimson only lost one set the
entire match against the Saints as eight Harvard student-athletes
won their individual matches 3-0.
Freshman Gary Power downed
Alex Dodge in the No. 1 spot, 11-5, 11-9, 11-6. Captain J. Reed
Endresen played his first match this season at the No. 2 spot
and did not disappoint, defeating Amay Merchant, 11-7, 11-7,
11-6.
Richard
Hill and Brandon McLaughlin also secured 3-0 victories playing
in the No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively. Nigel Koh played the only
four set match of the evening as Michael Badali stole the first set
11-8 before Koh found his stride and won the next three sets.
The win over the Saints marks the first true road win for the
Crimson and moves the Harvard to 5-2 overall. The Crimson will look
to bring its road record back to .500 against Hamilton Saturday
with the match slated for 1 p.m.
