Alexandra Kiefer has gone 41-1 in her rookie year so far
this season (Harvard Athletic Communications).
Freshman Alexandra Kiefer was named one of the week's
"Primetime Performers" for Jan. 31–Feb. 6 by
CollegeFencing360.com after she won all nine of her bouts over No.
8 Penn, Duke and Hunter College at the MIT Eric Sollee
Invitational. Kiefer highlighted a foil squad to that went 25-2
Sunday to lead the third-ranked Crimson to three wins in the
competition.
Kiefer continued her outsta defeating Penn's Mia Howell (5-0),
2010 NCAA participant Aida Abdikulova (5-1) and 2009 NCAA
participant Laura Paragano (5-4). She also bested
Duke's Lily Shepard (5-1), Keara Majeras (5-1) and Dana Rosen
(5-3).
Kiefer's season achievements include winning the Penn State
Garret Open in the fall by defeating 2009 NCAA runner-up Hayley
Reese of Notre Dame, 2010 NCAA semifinalist Dayana Sarkisova of
Northwestern, two-time NCAA semifinalist Oksana Dmytruk from Ohio
State, and fellow Ivy League freshman Eve Levin of Princeton.
Kiefer's next competition will take place at the Ivy League
Championship Saturday and Sunday at Princeton.
